This is a dual dj by Loveless & Grey this week for the ninth session of Chill Pill (9th session, really?!) this week. This session started in 2007 back in Seattle, and has traveled through San Francisco and finally out to here in Los Angeles California. Tennessee will be starting off the set with instrumental bliss moving into soft sweet sensual downtempo, and Nina Grey will be ending it out with great chill out classics intermixed with lounge and mellow grooves. Howdy! This is the 3rd edition of $3 Disco, which originally was a basic dance set that emerged into a pure disco set. This one ranges with extremely hard to find classic and foriegn disco intermixed with new hits and electro fusions. Below the tracklist you will see one of my favorite obsessions in Italian Disco, Heather Parisi.

Born in Hollywood, Heather grew up training in classic ballet, and was a part of SF ballet as a youth-teen. She was discovered on vacation in Italy while dancing in a Discotheque, and overnight she became one of Italy's biggest television stars, often appearing in the ever popular variety shows (Fantastico). The track on this playlist is from Fantastico 5 in 1984. This may not sound too American Disco'esque, but in Italy, Italian Disco (ItaloDisco) can branch onto the fusion of when disco merged with 80's classic dance. A recent major surge in modern electro has captured the classic elements of this genre, causing a great mix refreshed dance tracks. Check it out below!

I'm back up in San Francisco for the week (and will be doing 2 broadcasts up here). Its about 30 - 40 degrees cooler back up here which is a welcome change from the blistering Summer heat of Los Angeles. Also, its nice to breathe! Currently North of Los Angeles (right past the valley), a raging forest fire is sweeping at a massive rate, causing the sky to cloud up and rain large amounts of ash all over Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

I figured while I was up here, what better music to remind me of living here than playing music started out here in Mash Up Central (Thanks to Adrian and Mysterious D of the legendary club Bootie). While for the past two sessions, SMASHED! has been mixed with RoboDisco 3000 (Smash!Robot!Smash! sessions), it seemed better to split them up for now.
